What a Sunday we just experienced through the blessing of the Holy Spirit. Worship, Word and encouragement, including answered prayer. What a celebration of love with God's family in the morning. We were then blessed with the company of a special couple for a St. Patty's day feast. Best corned beef dinner ever!!! Finish off with a home group study that included communion ... and our souls are satisfied. Yet even still, this Monday morning, we say even more Lord, for your glory!!! Romans 15: 13
Church canceled for tomorrow January 20th due to snow. Pray at home for the sick, our church, our nation and the world. Blessings. PB
Advent 3 was a joyous celebration of the Christ child and all that Christmas brings to us. Over 150 children and their parents participated in Saturday's Christmas party. The gifts of the Magi were celebrated on Sunday with the blessed assurance that God provides all the resources we need for our service to Him. Next week is Advent 4 and the recognition of God's timing. His timing is always perfect even if it sometimes confuses us. The fire kept burning at Granville AG while we were away -- Praise God! Thank you Pastor Lindsay, Karen and all who contributed to an awesome service by all accounts. We are very pleased. We attended the Gloucester AG Church and were blessed by the message, some of which we will share this week. This week we look at the ninth fundamental truth -- Sanctification. It relates closely to the Holy Spirit Baptism we have been exploring and experiencing. God has more for us. I noted with our campfire this past week that it starts smoking heavily just before it bursts into flames. Spiritually speaking that is what is happening with us right now -- we're smoking, but God wants to spiritually light us up with Holy Spirit power. Yes Lord! God is taking us through a time of change, but if we are wise and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us it will be a season of increased love, of growth and of wonderful harvest. The Bible tells us so. Hebrews 12:11 paraphrasing no change is pleasant, but afterwards it produces a great harvest of righteousness and peace for those who are faithful. This week we will conclude our series of "Lessons from the Kings" by exploring both the succession of kings and the succession of prophets from Elijah to Elisha. God has much to teach us. Let's learn together how God inspired change brings real blessing!
This Sunday we celebrated Jesus through worship, including Karen's new song, reports of the miracle of salvation and the word on 'going for Jesus.' Next Sunday we start a series within Discipleship entitled: "the Ten Spiritual Disciplines That Shape a Disciple" � Our first topic is Worship: "Bringing God Glory in All We Do" or worship as a way of life. Discipleship! What does it mean in today's world? Has it changed from the mandate Jesus gave to His disciples? (Matthew 28: 19) What is my role within this mandate? How important is my role? And how can I perform my role effectively? These and many other questions will be developed, answered and implemented during our winter series on "Discipleship." This will be a journey that will change us and increase our ability to please God. This is an important journey, so join us for each step of it. This coming week: "What is discipleship?" We miss you church. The wedding Saturday was beautiful and an important family time for Judy and other Andreae family members. We hear Pastor Jim did a fine job with Acts 2 & 3. He is currently using the book of John to illustrate the principles we need to implement if we are to walk closer with Jesus.
